One Way to Think About Letting Go

There are several ways to let go and to think about letting go or to support a release. Here’s one that can help orient beginners towards a release:
~First notice the chair or the sofa that you are sitting on or lying on. Notice how that chair or sofa is holding you and supporting you and asking nothing in return. This helps with seeing that letting go is safe to do.
~Next see if you can allow your bones to have their full weight. See if you can just let the bones in your whole body simply drop down into the chair or the sofa.
~And now do the same thing with your organs. See if you can just allow your stomach to have its full weight and just drop into the chair or the sofa. Notice how the chair and the sofa are there to hold you and support you as you do this. Do this with your liver… and with your pancreas. And with you lungs and your heart. And your brain. And your eyes. Let your eyeballs just drop down. Let your tongue go. And let your throat go. Let your kidneys simply drop down into the chair or the sofa. And let your intestine relax and drop down into the chair or the sofa. Let your colon and rectum do the same. Let your reproductive organs just relax and drop down. And then notice what it feels like to simply let go.
