Awareness is part of our human experience. Like letting go we experience awareness all day long we just don’t know that we are experiencing awareness. Awareness is not the same as thinking. Awareness is aware that thinking is happening but it isn’t thinking. Awareness is “that which” is just slightly separate and apart from our thoughts and our feelings. Thoughts and feelings come and go but awareness is always here, always the same and is completely unaffected by and thoughts and feelings and all experiences. Thoughts and feelings change all the time but awareness never changes. Awareness is the same at 23 years old as it is when at 83 years old. A word that refers to the experience of awareness is mindfulness. Noticing the awareness that is always here, right now is mindfulness practice.
