Does It Have to Be Hard to Accomplish Our Goals?

We are constantly told that the more we want to accomplish our goals the more likely it is that we will. In fact, when I was growing up, one of my mother’s several phrases she would regularly say was, “Where there is  a will there is a way.”  As a result I came to believe that the more I pushed myself the more successful I would be. Eventually and fortunately I came to learn that pushing was counterproductive. One of my old teachers used to ask, “Delilah, do you want to work harder or smarter?”  Of course I wanted to work smarter but I had no idea how to make that happen! And even though my teacher was trying to make a point, he never really told me the secret to working smarter instead of harder.

Years ago, as I began learning about The Sedona Method and letting go I began learning about how to work smarter and not harder.  Over time I discovered that working hard was not the same as having a great work ethic. Having a great work ethic means that we are willing to do whatever a job requires to get the job done. It doesn’t mean that it has to be hard work to get a job done. The way to get a job done without working hard is to first go inward and look inside at how we feel about the goal, look at how we think and feel about what is needed to accomplish the goal.  Next it is productive to explore these thoughts and feelings to see which of these is working in alignment with accomplishing the goal and which are working against accomplishing the goal.  Using The Sedona Method to explore these things is not only highly effective but is also extremely expeditious. Rather than spend years and years analyzing these thoughts and feelings it can take only a few minutes using the various processes within The Sedona Method to gain deep understanding and profound insight into what we bring to our goals in life that is working and not working. In other words, using The Sedona Method we can easily discover how to work smarter not harder!
