Self Inquiry and Mastering the Material World

There are different processes of self inquiry. Some are designed to see through the illusion of the material world while others are designed to see through to what is standing in the way of our mastering the material world. One of the questions from The Sedona Method that I love is “Could you/I allow ___________(fill in the blank.)” Notice what happens when we ask ourselves questions like, “Could I allow myself to have love in my life?” Or, see what it  feels like when we ask ourselves questions like, “Could I allow myself to be free from resentments?”  And notice what happens inside when we ask ourselves, “Could I allow myself to be fantastically successful?”  If there is harmony, expansion  and flow in the body when we pose these questions to ourselves  we know that we are aligned with our goals and are likely to accomplish them. If there is tension and contraction anywhere in the body then we know that there is some ambivalence and controversy about either the goal itself or how to move towards the goal.  These kinds of modern self inquiry questions uncover internal ambivalences about things that we don’t realize have controversy for us. When we uncover these ambivalences and controversies we can start to see how we might be sabotaging ourselves from  having, doing or being these things. Once we uncover these ambivalences and controversies, we are able to either unravel or neutralize them so that we have harmony, expansion and flow inside. Internal harmony, expansion and flow allow us to open fully to having, doing or being what we are longing to have, do or be.
